It seems all is not well within the Aam Aadmi Party ahead of Delhi Assembly polls even though they tried to put up a volt face to show unity. One of the founder members of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), eminent lawyer and former Union Law Minister Shanti Bhushan heaped praise on BJP’s CM candidate Kiran Bedi, saying she is an honest and transparent person.
“I definitely support Kiran Bedi, as she is a product of anti-corruption movement of Anna Hazare. She is as good of Kejriwal. She will prove herself as a good Chief Minister because of her honesty, strong administration skills and never-say-die attitude,” said Prashant Bhushan.
“I would be happy if Kiran Bedi becomes the Chief Minister of Delhi. She has contributed a lot to the society during her illustrious career. It would be unfair to criticise her just because she has joined a particular party. She can give clean and effective administration to Delhi,” he said.
When referred to Kiran Bedi’s praise for RSS, Shanti Bhushan said while he does not like RSS’ anti-Muslim stand, he definitely acknowledges the good work done by the RSS cadres for the society. “Let’s appreciate good things and criticise bad things, be it an individual or organisation,” he said. He also admitted that BJP played a masterstroke by fielding Kiran Bedi in Delhi. Shanti Bhushan admitted that AAP had deviated from the track and not working towards the goal it aimed at.
While commenting on the issue, Arvind Kejriwal, there is democracy within the AAP and all leaders and cadres are free to express their opinion. “They are able to judge whether such comments will benefit or damage party’s prospects,” he said.
