Under fire and tremendous pressure from all quarters, Pakistan NSA Sartaj Aziz confirmed the Delhi visit, but raked up ‘Kashmir’ issue ahead of the NSA-level talks on August 24, saying the Ufa Declaration talked about all “outstanding issues” and Kashmir remains one of those issues although the word was not specifically written.
Aziz also made his intention clear to meet the Hurriyat leaders, who are “representatives” of the Kashmiris. “We should not be prevented from doing this, as it has been happening for the years. We are disturbed at the arrest of these leaders”, he added.
Aziz further claimed that Pakistan has prepared a dossier on the involvement of RAW in several terror activities in Balochistan and other parts of the country. “I have those dossier. If I don’t get a chance to present these documents to Ajit Doval, I will present those before the UN General Assembly,” he said.
Aziz confirms that Narendra Modi trying to build pressure on Pakistan using various means and also wants all talks on his own terms. This is unfortunate and unacceptable, he said.
Lastly, Sartaj Aziz expressed confidence that the NSA level talks would happen on the scheduled date and he can attend the meet. “There are no pre-conditions. I hope the talks don’t go cancelled because of any unfortunate circumstances. India and Pakistan have a collective responsibility to ensure peace”, he said.
