Swine Flu Death Toll rises to 631 across India

Swine-Flu-IndiaSwine Flu continued to play havoc across the country, as it claimed more lives in the last two days to take the death toll to 631, as per the official data. The number of people affected this year, has gone up to 9,311 so far.

Rajasthan and Gujarat remain worst-affected by Swine Flu. Rajasthan has reported 183 deaths so far, while Gujarat has reported 150 H1N1 casualties. Madhya Pradesh has recorded 81 Swine Flu deaths so far. Indore is worst affected in MP with 15 deaths.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda had chaired a high-level meeting yesterday to review the situation and take adequate steps to prevent the spread of the disease. The Ministry is in touch with the states, which are affected by Swine Flu.

The Drug Controller General of India (DGCI) has written to over 10,000 chemists across the country to stock Oseltamivir and Tamiflu drugs, but not sell it without prescription.
