Even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi came down heavily on some opinion polls that showed Aam Aadmi Party ahead of BJP in Delhi, three new surveys came as a big relief for the saffron party, which is fighting it out to reclaim Delhi after a long gap of 16 years.
The India TV-C Voter opinion poll has predicted BJP to get an absolute majority of 36 seats in the 70-member assembly. The AAP may win 31 seats, it says. It has given Congress just 2 seats and 1 to others.
When it comes to vote share, BJP (44%) is just ahead of AAP (43%), while Congress may get 8%. The survey was conducted on 10,862 voters across Delhi.
Another survey conducted by The Week-RMRB, has also given 36 seats to the BJP and 29 seats to the Aam Aadmi Party. The Congress may win 4 seats, it says. In total, 4,055 people were surveyed.
The News Nation opinion poll predicts a neck and neck fight between the BJP and AAP. The BJP may win 33, while AAP may get 32 seats, it says, hinting at a hung assembly. It has given 4 seats to the Congress. The survey was conducted on 3,000 people.
These three surveys came as a big relief for the BJP after the ABP News-Nielsen and Aaj Tak – CICERO opinion polls predicted AAP win in Delhi.
