Tujarsharief Shrine Attack: Militants kill Policeman, Civilian

Srinagar, Aug 18: Separatist guerrillas on Tuesday gunned down a policeman and a civilian at a shrine in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said.

Militants sprayed bullets at the policeman who was guarding the shrine. “Militants fired at constable Fayaz Ahmad at the Tujarsharief shrine,” a police officer told. He succumbed to his injuries. A civilian, Abdul Rahim Lone, 70, was also killed outside the shrine.

The militants fled after the killings. “Reinforcements have been rushed to the area to trace the assailants,” the officer added. (IANS)
