In a major breakthrough, the security personnel have nabbed a terrorist alive in Udhampur, Jammu following a fierce encounter. The nabbed terrorist has been identified as Qasim Khan from Pakistan. He is said to be 20 year old. Qasim was overpowered by the Village Defence Committee when he tried to hold some people hostage.
One terrorist was also gunned down in the encounter. The joint operation was conducted by the Army, BSF and CRPF. All three hostages were released. Earlier, these terrorists had launched a daring attack on a BSF Convoy, killing 2 jawans and injuring 8 others.
This is the second time, Indian security forces have caught any terrorist alive during the attack. Earlier in 2008, Ajmal Kasab was arrested with injuries and later hanged till death.
