Music Maestro AR Rahman gets Three Oscar Nominations

Famous music director of Indian, AR Rahman’s three films have been entered in the list of nominations for upcoming 87th Annual Academy Awards.

The three films – Million Dollar Arm, The Hundred Foot Journey and Kochadaiiyaan earned nomination for AR Rahman for Oscar 2015.

The Oscar’s final list of nominations will be announced on 15 January 2015 and awards will be conferred on February 22, 2015 at the Dolby Theatre—Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.

AR Rahman, known as Mozart of Madras, had won two Oscars awards in the year 2009 for Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire.

After winning  the two Oscar awards, AR Rahman was also nominated twice for Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours in the year 2011.

The film by Girish Malik ‘Jal’, which won the national award, is also in the list of Oscar nominations for two categories – Best Picture as well as Best Original Score.
