Madras HC upholds FoE, dismisses plea against ‘Mersal’

The Madras High Court on Friday dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking to revoke the censor certificate issued to the Vijay-starrer ‘Mersal’ over some controversial dialogues relating to Goods and Service Tax (GST) and digital India scheme.

However, the court held everyone have the right to express their opinions and this applies to films as well. The Tamil blockbuster will release in Telugu without any cuts now.
