Odia Actor Akash Dasnayak celebrates B’day with Orphanage Kids

Bhubaneswar, Sep 17: Renowned Odia actor and politician Akash Dasnayak turned 33 today  on the auspicious day of Ganesh Puja and what better way to celebrate it than with the kids at Jeevan Jyoti Ashram here at the temple city.

The joy of the kids was worth seeing when the actor turned up with gifts galore and spent the entire day dancing and celebrating with them.

“It’s a tradition. Every year, be it my birthday, Holi, Ganesh Puja or any other occasion, I come down to these kids and celebrate with them. Celebrating with friends and relatives is what we generally do but I believe if I spare some time and come down herewith my family and celebrate with the kids then that joy that we get becomes manifold”.

“Happiness increases when shared and I feel so blessed when I share that happiness with the kids. My message to everyone is to please make a little effort to come and visit these kids. They are talented and wonderful and it would mean a world to them if we appreciate what they are doing under such circumstances.”

The day started with a band performance by Underground Moment and the children rocked to the music. Even the children had organised a special song and dance performance for the audience.

 “We are so happy to have Akash Dasnayak amongst us. Most of the time I study as I am preparing for my matriculation exams but since Akash sir is coming, I along with my friends have rehearsed a dance number and we would be surprising him today,” said Satyabhama, an excited girl from the orphanage.

The orphanage houses around 75 children ageing from 3 to 16 years. The event was also attended by Odia TV actors Padarbina Nayak, Partha Sarathi Ray and Akash Dasnayak’s wife Subhrajyoti Hati.
