Vietnam to host maiden Indian Film Fest

Indian Film Festival VietnamHanoi, Dec 8:  The inaugural Indian Film Festival Vietnam (IFFV) will take place here from December 18 to bridge the gap between the entertainment industries of the two countries.

The six-day fest, which will conclude on December 23, will be held at the National Cinema Centre here.

The festival will showcase films from or about India. The line-up includes “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag”, “3 Idiots”, “OMG – Oh My God!”, “Wake Up Sid”, “Paheli”, “Jodhaa Akbar”, “Dil Chahta Hai”, “Maqbool” and “Taare Zameen Par”, read a statement.

Some Indian filmmakers will attend a seminar on “Vietnam -India Cinema Cooperation and its role in Promotion of Tourism” with a view to make films in Vietnam’s locations.

Directors in focus will be Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Umesh Shukla. Accompanying them will be Rahul Mittra, who has produced films like “Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster” and “Bullett Raja”.

The film festival will also see the presence of Preeti Saran, India’s ambassador to Vietnam.

The IFFV will offer the Vietnam community an opportunity to learn about India’s multi-faceted culture and long history of filmmaking.  (IANS)
