67th AICC of Commerce Association at KIIT from Dec 27

KIIT-AICCTemple city Bhubaneswar is going to witness one of the most spectacular academic extravaganzas of commerce and business in KIIT Campus from December 27 – 29, 2014. This is only the second time that the State of Odisha will have the privilege to host the 67th Annual Commerce Conference of All India Commerce Association. The event is going to be held in KIIT University, jointly organized by KIIT, renowned for its quality education and social development initiatives, and Utkal University, one of the oldest in the country and the mother University of the State of Odisha.

All India Commerce Conference (AICC) assumes greater importance for India, in general, and the State of Odisha, in particular, because of its sheer strength, academic contribution, policy measures and galaxy of intellectual members donning almost all the commerce and business arena of the country and the globe.

This mega event will not only brainstorm on the issues of national and international importance in the six technical sessions during three days, but also provide a solid platform for exchange of culture and creation of international harmony. Besides academicians, eminent researchers, acclaimed persons from the industry, media and renowned activists in various fields will attend the three-day event. This occasion will also showcase the intellectual, social and rich cultural heritage of Odisha, which will feature in the evening during first two days of the event.

More than 2000 papers related to various areas are expected to be presented in six technical sessions. More than 3,000 delegates will attend making it one of the largest ever congregations in the country, state and KIIT. All the delegates will be accommodated in one campus only. Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Registrar, KIIT University as Organizing Secretary and Prof. Jayanta Kumar Parida, Professor, P. G. Department of Commerce, Utkal University as Conference Secretary monitoring all the preparations to make the event a grand success.

Odisha had hosted this prestigious conference only once before in 1982 when Ravenshaw College, Cuttack organized it under late Maj. (Prof.) Batakrushna Mohanty. For the first time, such a grand conference is being jointly organized by the two most successful and popular institutions of the state; viz., KIIT University and Utkal University. Eight foreign delegates will present research papers and more than twelve past Presidents of the Association, eight former Vice-Chancellors and five acting Vice-Chancellors will attend the conference.

While wishing the conference a grand success, Dr. A. Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS said, it is a privilege for KIIT to organize this prestigious academic event. The deliberations would be immensely beneficial for the policy making, he hoped, while wishing the delegates a memorable stay in Odisha, in general, and KIIT, in particular. A special session for the students and research scholars studying commerce and management at undergraduate and postgraduate levels is being organized to encourage them to pursue research in the field. The conference will have as many as 50 students presenting papers, while 200 research scholars will be participating. Cash prize and scholarships will be awarded to the meritorious students for the first time.
