ABVP holds Protest Rally in Odisha over Education & Unemployment

ABVP ProtestBhubaneswar, Sep 12:  A rally has been organized by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) here demanding the solution for disastrous education system and unemployment. They hit the streets with lots of problems in colleges and universities of Odisha. Around 10,000 students participated in this rally started from Unit 3 and ended in lower PMG.

We need quality education, appointment of teachers in every college. We want permanent teachers not ad-hoc appointment said National General Secretary of ABVP Srihari Borikar to Odisha News Insight (ONI).

City Secretary Sibaji Jena told to ONI that in our country every year around 40 lakh students are registering their names, but only 14000 are getting jobs, so unemployment issue should be taken on priority basis by the state government.  The Odisha government should provide government jobs to us.

ABVP Protest-1Smrutiranjan Biswal, state Co-Coordinator of Technical Student Cell told to ONI, “We are demanding BPUT Camp in Bhubaneswar and justice for those students whose courses are not approved by AICTE. Students of CET, PMEC, Bhawanipatna Engineering Colleges are affected most.”

Pramod Rout, State Secretary of ABVP told that we demand not to allow party politics in educational institutions and government should take care to avoid violence and gundagiri in colleges and universities.

A general meeting was conducted on Friday, in which State Joint-Secretary Priyanka Priyadarshini Mallick, Sujit Kumar Nayak, Prafulla Kumar Barik, Hemaranjan Barik, National Executive Member Bailochan Sahu, Ispita Harichandan, Subrat Kumar Sethi, Hitesh Kumar Sahu, Gitanjali Jena, Bhubaneswar Mahanagar Secretary Chhatrapati Sibaji Jena and students from different colleges and universities  were present and discussed about lots of issue regarding education. Bhubaneswar Mahanagar City coordinator Abhilash Panda conducted this meeting. In the end delegation team provided memorandum to the chief minister, higher education minister and secretary.
