Particularly the state of being young college girls is very precarious, she said. She urged them to be self reliant and to live a dignified life by learning self defense mechanisms. She also admonished them to inculcate good habits and to prepare themselves to encounter any untoward situation that comes on their way in their day to day life.

Miss. Chandrakanta Tiwari, the master trainer, briefed the girl students about the rules and regulations of the programme. Two groups were formed each group consisting of 45 students. After the initial orientation, the master trainer has started the training for the enrolled students. The programme will continue till 2nd Jan 2016.

As gaining an important skill like self defense will augment their self confidence, they will confront the abuse for themselves and for others who are not trained in this skill. This will also inspire more and more girls to get into this process. The role of Govt of Odisha in empowering girls has been applauded by the parents and the general public in the locality.
