CCWD, NIDI hold ‘Consultation with PIEs’ in Bhubaneswar

Consultation with PIEs for the vision of Bhubaneswar City (3)Bhubaneswar, Oct 6: Putting  of views   for the vision of  the city  a one day consultation with  PIEs ( Peoples  dependent upon informal economy) organized  by  city based voluntary organization named  Centre for Child and Women Development (CCWD) in association with NIDI here at Redcross Bhawan on Monda.

As many as 40 persons including representatives from civil society, representatives from city level associations – slum dwellers, resident security committees, auto-rickshaw drivers, rickshaw-pullers, street-vendors, domestic workers, waste workers, construction workers, and others participated. The Planning process, strengthening of ward sabahs, involvement of citizen in the visioning process is more essential to strengthen the   Bhubaneswar city said the participant.

Among others  General secretary of AICCTU Mahendra Parida,  Ghasiram Panda programme manager of Action aid, Meena menon,  Pritha chatarji from   Action aid , Delhi & Er. Dillip Sahu shared their views.  Ranjan Rout Director of Nidi shared the brief note about Peoples vision and Sadasiv Swain secretary of CCWD said the informal workers contribution towards City.

Notable that, Bhubaneswar city, the state capital of Odisha, has become the economic nerve centre drawing investments, technology, and human power, accumulating skill, capital and knowledge. The city has been placed in the list of smart cities, mandated to provide good infrastructure such as water, sanitation, and reliable utility services, health care; attract investments; transparent processes.
