CCWD unveils Labour Felicitation Center in Bhubaneswar

Labour Feliciation centreIn a bid to aware the construction workers & other workers about the social security, city based voluntary organization named Center for Child and Women Development (CCWD) in collaboration with Action Aid & European Commission a Labour Facilitation Center inaugurated at Nayapalli labour stand in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

The facilitation center inaugurated by Chairman of Odisha Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board Shri Subash Singh. Addressing to the august gathering   Singh said that, the government of Odisha is taking several measures for the development of workers of our state and in the social security part Odisha is the first state in the country. Now 6 to 7 lakhs construction workers enrolled in Welfare Board in near future the board also trying to enroll 30lakhs laborers. The board is also planning to have a Welfare Board for unorganized workers  in the state.

Focusing on the development of labour community, Programme Manager of Action Aid, Ghasiram Panda said that in basic facilities will be provided by the government at all labour stands. Among others Laxmidhar Mohapatra ACP (CRIME), General secretary of AICCTU Mahendra Parida, Ex corporator Srubhransusekhar Pattanayak spokes on the occasion.

Presiding the whole programme secretary of CCWD Sadasiv Swain said that the objective of the facilitation center is to promote to educate, live with dignity, social security measures and to create more awareness to homeless workers to residing in night shelter. The facilitation center will work as camp in different labour stand in the city.
