Child Federation-Berhampur members meet New PHED Executive Engineer

Berhampur, Dec 31:  Children Federation members met Er. Sitakanta Panda, Executive Engineer, PHED, Berhampur. They welcome Er. Panda for his new responsibility as Executive Engineer and submitted a memorandum demanding safe water supply to all slums of Berhampur city.

They raised the issues on water supply low water pressure, water supply only once in a day, poor quality of water, delay in water supply through tankers, unhygienic basement, no water connection to many slums, insufficient water taps and poor maintenance stand posts and hand pumps etc.

They also narrated the child clubs and children’s federation in Berhampur, their activities, child led planning  and requested to seek children’s views and opinion while city planning in all development programs and urban governance. Children as the junior citizens should be given equal chance to participate in all affairs of city development and make the city liveable for children with child friendly spaces.

Among the children federation members Amit Das of Goudabandha Street, Ashish Sahu of Jagannatha Nagar, Mamali Das of Ambapua, Papu Das of Gramdebati Bauri Street, Asha Nayak of Jagabandhu huda street are present and discussed with Er. Panda. Er. Panda from his side promised for all kind of support to kids and slums in also promised regular and quality water supply to all slums in the city.

Volunteers from different slums like Suprava Das of Gramdevati Bauri street, Bala Das of Lanjipali Goudabandha street, Rinki Patra, Radha Dash of Jagannatha Nagar, Jyoti Das of Ambapua Bauri street and Banita Nayak of Jagabandhu Bandha huda street were facilitate Child federation members. From Youth for Social Development Abhiram Kanhar, Chandan Sahu, Suchitra Rout and Sujata Bishoi also coordinated this meet.
