JK Paper Mills organises 24th Quality Circle Convention

Jk RayagadaRayagada, Oct 3: The Twenty fourth  Quality Circle Convention of Koraput Chapter was held at S.C. Jain Memorial Hall at JK Paper Mills, Jaykaypur. Responding to the clarion call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the theme of the convention was – Make in India – A vision through Quality Concept.

 As many as twenty seven Quality Circle & Kaizen teams from JK Paper Mills, Rayagada; NALCO, Damonjodi; HAL, Sunabeda & Visaka Industries, Sambalpur  along with delegates from nearby industries, comprising  250 members participated in the convention and presented their Case Studies.

The convention was inaugurated by Mr. Vijay Mantry, VP (Manufacturing), JK Paper Mills, by lighting the lamps with other QCFI dignitaries. Mr. T. Vidyasagar, GM (HRD), JK Paper Mills, welcomed Chief Guest Mr. Vijay Mantry, VP (Manufacturing), JK Paper Mills,   & Guest of Honor Dr. B.R. Bangrey of QCFI.

Mr. Mantry conveyed his appreciation for the excellent job done by Quality Circle Forum of India(QCFI), Koraput Chapter for last 24 years since 1991 in & around Koraput. He expressed his immense happiness as JK Paper Mills was highly benefitted by the QC movement and appealed to all the industries to take active participation in QC activities and to develop positive attitude towards the same.

Dr. Bangrey in his ‘thought provoking’ speech narrated the concept of ‘Make in India’ and how QC movement can help to make this idea a reality. In the Valedictory function, Mr. Ashutosh Rath, AGM (TQM), NALCO, welcomed Chief Guest Mr. P.K. Suri, Executive Vice President(Works), JK Paper Mills, Jaykaypur, Rayagada &  Guest of Honor  Mr. Maloy De, Executive Director, KPIT, HAL.

Mr. Suri, EVP (W), JK Paper Mills, delivered an inspiring speech and informed the audience about the benefits of Quality Circle movement. He complimented the efforts of all participating teams and mentioned that all the teams present in the forum are winners. Mr. Maloy De, Executive Director, KPIT, HAL in his enlightened speech informed the audience the achievements of different companies through QC movement and emphasized on customer satisfaction, which could only be attained through quality movement.

Mr. T. Vidyasagar, GM (HRD), JK Paper Mills, gave the Judge’s feedback and explained the difficulties to choose the winners due to stiff competition. Among the 22  QC & 5 Kaizen  presentations  in the convention, the 2nd Runner Up prizes went to Bijli team from JKPM & Miracle team from NALCO. The 1st Runner Up prizes went to Solar from JKPM & Black Diamond team from NALCO. The Winner of the Convention was Gloss team of JKPM.

The convention was organized by JK Paper Mills, Rayagada, under the leadership of  Mr. T. Vidyasagar, GM (HRD), JK Paper Mills.
