JK Paper Mills organises Disaster Preparedness Day in Rayagada

Rayagada, Nov 2: JK Paper Mills Ltd’s Jaykaypur unit has observed Odisha Disaster Preparedness Day & National Day for Disaster Reduction-2015 to sensitize people about the possibility of disasters and the need for greater preparedness to meet such disaster. A similar kind of mega disaster was witnessed during the deadliest Super Cyclone which had hit the state of Odisha on 29th October 1999.

During the observance the different following activities have been carried out like awareness training programmes among the employees, Fire Mock Drill, Chlorine Mock Drill, Rallies and discussion on disaster preparedness. All the employees including contract labour have actively participated in all the above activities. The rally got started from the main entrance gate of JK Paper Mills and marched through out the plant and spread the message of the importance of safety in all the activities to prevent and mitigate disaster.

The programme was inaugurated by Sri Vijay Mantry, Vice President (Manufacturing) and Sri Bharat Agarwal, Vice President (Commercial). Sri Vijay Mantry & Sri Bharat Agarwal briefed about the need of disaster management and the benefits we accrued from this during the recent disasters like Philin & Hud Hud. Sri L.M Rao, DGM (Safety) made a power point presentation on Operational Discipline in implementation of Process Safety Management system to all the executives of the mill.
