Bhubaneswar, Nov 17: National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bhubaneswar is organizing an International Case Symposium in Fashion, Retail & Management on 19th & 20th November, 2015 at Toshali Sands, Puri a first of its kind of event in Odisha.
The Symposium aims to debate discuss and brainstorm in the form of Case Studies in the broader area of fashion, retail and management cases, generated from the scholars and practitioners across the globe.
Researches from France, UK, Turkey, Ethiopia, Bangladesh will provide a wide cross-cultural views in the 73 cases to be presented in the Symposium. Shri Sudhir Tripathi, IAS, Director General, NIFT will inaugurate the Symposium at 10AM on 19th Nov. 2015 as Chief Guest of the Inaugural session.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Anthony Kent, Professor, Nottingham Trent University, U.K. The Guest of Honor is Mr. Bikram Patnaik, Merchandising Director, Nike, India. Dr. K.C.S. Ray, Director, NIFT will preside over the function. Other distinguished guest speakers are Mr. Ganesh N Prabhu, Professor, Indian Institute of Management, Mr. Pallav Atreja, Head, Business Development & EBO Operations, MAS BRANDS, Ms. Preeti Ramanathan, Co Founder Agventues-social enterprise in ICT for Development and Mr. Atul Arora, Senior Category Manager, Snapdeal, The case presenters are from MDI, IIT, NID, IRMA, NIFT and many other premier Institutes from India and abroad.
The Symposium will bring together leading academicians, researchers, business practitioners, consultants, designers & students across the world under one platform. Cases to be presented pertain to fashion & merchandising, marketing, handloom & handicrafts, sustainability & fashion technology. Selected Cases from the Symposium will be published as a “Case Handbook in FRM” which will benefit fashion management, design and technology students and practitioners across the world.
