“RBI @ 80: Beyond Central Banking” Exhibition Concludes

RBI-80“RBI @ 80: Beyond Central Banking”, an exclusive exhibition organized by Reserve Bank of India, Bhubaneswar concluded successfully in terms of achieving its core objective to aware the people on the functioning of RBI currency and latest  financial inclusions.

It should be noted; more than 500 people have come to the Aadhar Counter in the exhibition for enrollment of Aadhar Card. The exhibition also had a counter for exchange of soiled and mutilated notes tendered by public. Around 830 pieces of notes of value Rs. 77,710/- were exchanged. Two coin vending machines installed at the exhibition were also found very busy for the last 5days. Coins of various denominations wroth Rs. 1, 50,000 (approx) were availed by the general public.

RBI-80-Signature“The 5-day event was quite encouraging as it attracted foot-fall beyond our expectation. Around 10,000 people of Bhubaneswar and outside visited the exhibition and were educated on various financial matters. Apart from educating people, the exhibition also attracted number of people for Aadhar enrollment and currency exchange”, said Pradipta Kumar Jena, Regional Director for Odisha, RBI. “I hope this exhibition will develop peoples’ understanding on financial matters and will definitely have notable impact”, he further added.

Apart from this various things like, the role of RBI in common man’s life, some interesting matters on bank notes, Popularity of E-banking, Caution about various fake offers and mails, and Procedure of the complaint hearing against bank were also the part of the exhibition. Snapshot of RBI’s 80 year’s glorious journey was one of the most attractive features of the exhibition.
