Red Cross organises First Aid Training in Bhubaneswar

Red cross Training  CampCiting the impotence of emergency health service during Nabakalebara of Lod Jagannath in Puri, Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch on Monday organized an One Day Orientation Training programme on First Aid & Family News Service (FNS) in Bhubaneswar.

The objective of the training programme is to enhance the capacity of SDRT, DDRT, Red Cross Volunteers, Life Members of Puri, Khordha, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur District Red Cross Branch Members & Volunteers to deliver emergency health services during Nabakalebara 2015.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Chakradhar Panda, Honorary Secretary, IRCS-OSB Branch as Chief Guest. While addressing the camp, Dr. Pradhan emphasized the role and spirit of volunteerism among the volunteers of Red Cross at the time of the famous Nabakalebara festival at Puri.

Around 100 Volunteers from Puri, Khordha, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur district had participated in the training programme. Participants were trained on Basic First Aid, basic life support, psychological support, TRIAGE in emergency, safe handling & transporting of the casualty, coordination mechanism, contingency planning, dead body management, Restoring Family Link and Sanitation & Hygiene promotion so on and so forth.

Among other dignitaries, Dr. Satyanarayan Hota, Vice-Chairman, DRCB, Subarnapur & Trainer FMR and Sri Umakanta Nag, National level FNS trainer were present in the training programme as resource persons.
