Red Cross organizes Social Service Camp on Maha Shivaratri

Red Cross Social Service Camp Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch(IRCS-OSB) organised a Social Service Camp on 17.02.2015 at Lingaraj Temple, Bhubaneswar & Lokanath Temple Puri on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. The main objective of this Social Service Camp was to strengthen the communal harmony, unity in diversity and spirit of brotherhood. Besides distribution of Glucose water, First-Aid & essential generic medicines to the devotees by Red Cross youth volunteers & members and create awareness among the local communities.

On 16.02.2015, from evening the Social service Camp started at Lokanath Temple, Puri and ends after taken off of the Mahadeepa. More than 130 patients were treated in the First Aid Post and got essential generic medicines. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Das, Dr. Susanta Kumar Sahoo, 12 nursing volunteers, 27 YRC counsellors & volunteers & 16 Life Members of Red Cross participated and rendered the humanitarian service to the devotees on this occasion.

Collector-cum-Chairman, District Red Cross Branch, Puri & ADMO, Puri visited to the camp and greatly appreciated the initiative of Red Cross. Dr. Chakradhar Panda, Honorary Secretary, IRCS-OSB coordinated the Camp. Sri Pradeep Kumar Nanda, Sr. Asst. & others assisted in this camp. On 17.02.2015, from the early morning the Social service camp stall was opened at Lingaraj Temple, Bhubaneswar and continues till to the taken off of the Mahadeepa to the top of the temple. 30 devotees were treated in the First Aid post by Dr. Bikash Prasad & Dr. Jasobanta Narayan Jena and got essential generic medicines.

Volunteers, Life Members and staff members of IRCS-OSB actively participated in the camp. The Social service camp stall was also visited and cherished by Shri Debi Prasad Mishra, Hon’ble Minister, Industries, School & Mass Education, Shri Priyadarshi Mishra, MLA, North & Shri Ananta Narayan Jena, Mayor, Bhubaneswar. The Camp was coordinated by Sri Govinda Chandra Mahunta, Honorary Joint Secretary, IRCS – OSB. Sri Anirudha Sahoo, Diarist & others assisted in this camp.
