Samleshwari Open Cast Mine gets National Safety Award

Samleshwari Opencast mine project of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited — a subsidiary CPSU of Coal India — has received the coveted National Safety Award.

Area General Manager (Ib Valley) Mr R P Gupta received the award from His Excellency the President of India Mr Pranab Mukharjee during a ceremony held at Vigyaan Bhawan, New Delhi, recently.

Mr Gupta was accompanied by Mr O P Singh. Chairman-cum-Managing Director Mr A N Sahay congratulated the Samleshwari OCP team for winning the Safety award. Maintaining highest standards of safety at workplaces, particularly in its projects, MCL recorded ZERO fatality during the calendar year 2014.
