Sri Sri University celebrates its 4th Commencement Day

Sri-Sri-UniversitySri Sri University conducted its fourth installment day ceremony today for its management, good governance and public policy, yoga and naturopathy and performing arts programs, in the presence of industry and state leaders.

Four years since its inception, the University has grown from 46 students in its charter MBA batch to over 600 students across several fields of study.

Imparting life skills to the students, Chief Guest, Dr.Binay Kumar Behra (IPS), DGP, Odisha said, “Pursue ambition in a fair manner. Your profession is your livelihood, not your life.”

“The vision of the founder of the university, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is to build a modern Taxila, a centre of excellence for aspiring schools from around the world,” said Dr.Nand Lal, Vice-Chancellor, Sri Sri University.

Already Sri Sri University hosts students from 21 states and 7 countries.

Guests of honour Ajay Bagga, Executive Chairman, OPC Asset Solutions, Pvt Ltd and Trustee and Administrator, SSRT and Abhisek Verma, Vice-President and Cluster Business Leader, Odisha and Chhatisgarh,Yes bank Ltd. brought a corporate perspective to higher education. Rajita Bagga, Member, Board of Governors and President, World Forum for Ethics in Business, spoke about the keen interest evinced by foreign universities in the Art of Living’s Sri Sri University approach to learning.

The Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Good Governance also addressed the gathering.

“When I first dropped my daughter here, I was a bit worried about how she was going to manage by herself, but after listening to all the speakers, I feel relaxed and privileged that she is a part of this university. I am confident that she is not only going to excel academically and professionally but also holistically,” said parent Sriparna Upadhyay.

“I am highly inspired by the speakers, I hope to become as accomplished as them one day,” added BBA fresher, Pelluri Ranjith Kumar.

Spread over a sprawling, lush environs of 188 acres, alongside the River Kathjodi (a tributary of the River Mahanadi), the university offers programs that bring the best of Western ideas and innovations and Eastern wisdom. The programs taught include MBA-(General Management, Entrepreneurship, Agribusiness); BBA; P.G Diploma in Financial Management; B.Com; MA in Good Governance and Public Policy; M.Sc (Osteopathy); BA and MA(Yoga and Naturopathy); B. Arch and Bachelor of Performing Arts in Odissi.

The University, which began academic operations in 2012, was established by Spiritual Leader and the Founder of the Art of Living Foundation, His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar with the vision of world-class education in India.
