Sudarshan Pattnaik creates Twin Santas at Puri Sand Beach

Santa-PuriLeading Sand Artist and Padmashree Sudarshan Pattnaik created twin Santa Clauses on sand at Puri Sea Beach to spread the message of global peace. With two Santas on both sides and Jesus in the middle, the sand art created by Sudarshan, drew the attention of visitors to Puri.

The sand art created just behind the Pantha Nivas in Puri, gave the message “Global Peace & Merry Christmas”. Sudarshan Pattnaik and his team of 15 students, took 22 hours to build these Santa Clauses. They used 50 tonnes of sand in the process.

Sudarshan Pattnaik claimed that this 20-ft tall Santa Clause is world’s highest Santa. He has decided to send this to the Limka Book of Records soon. Meanwhile, the Sand Art Festival at Puri, was unveiled by Odisha Tourism and culture Shri Ashoka Ch. Panda in the presence of Puri District collector Shri Aravind Agrawal. The festival will continue till 1st Jan 2015.
