Tourism Department, FHRAI organise Investors Meet in New Delhi

Tourism Investor Meet - Photograph 2New Delhi, Sep 21: An Investors Meet on Tourism was organized jointly by Tourism Department and Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Association of India (FHRAI) at New Delhi held on Thursday. The objective of the Meet was to brief the big hotel chains and corporate brands about the tourism potentials, policy framework and land parcels available in the State for possible investment in the hospitality sector in Odisha.

The Meet was chaired by Shri Ashok Chandra Panda, Hon’ble Minister, Tourism & Culture, Odisha. He called upon all the investors to come to Odisha and make investment in tourism & hospitality sector, especially in the light of State Tourism Policy and recently launched IPR 2015.

He also highlighted the glorious past of Odisha, the Buddhist Treasures, the Eco-Tourism Potentials and the rich cultural heritage of the State. He assured that Govt. will take all steps to materialize the investment proposals offered by the hoteliers. Comprehensive presentation was made by Sri L. N. Gupta, Principal Secretary, Tourism followed by Sri Anil Kumar Samal, Director, Tourism on the immense tourism potential of the State, opportunities in tourism sector along with advantage Odisha.

The flagship projects of Govt., like Shamuka Beach Project and Chilika Tourism Development Project were also highlighted before the investors. More than 40 renowned hoteliers and investors attended the Meet and participated in the discussion.

Mr. T. S. Wallia, President, FHRAI appreciated the efforts of Odisha Tourism and stated that Odisha today has an investor friendly environment. Some of the hoteliers, such as Ms. Lemontree; Ms.Jaypee; Ms. Newport Group; Ms. Brahmaputra Group etc. have shown special interest and likely to sign MoU with Tourism Department shortly. The Meet was organized in view of the forthcoming 50th Annual Convention of FHRAI being held at Bhubaneswar in partnership with Department of Tourism.
