V.S. Vidyalaya, Sunabeda holds Career Counseling Workshop

V.S. Vidyalaya of Sunabeda organized a career counseling workshop at the HAL Training and Development centre here on 12th & 13th January 2015. Consultant of Akanxa Associates, Aurangabad, Utkarsh Kapoor attended the two days long  programme as the counselor and conducted the workshop. Inaugurating the workshop Principal of the school Hemant Kumar Seth impressed upon the students to avail the facilities available and enhance their capacity to create a place for themselves in this competitive world.

During the interactive session with the children the Counselor, Utkarsh Kapoor discussed all the major issues faced by children. However, the expert laid special importance on ‘SWOT analysis’. According to him, it is the best way to effectively pursue a career.

‘SWOT’ stands for ‘sehat’, ‘weakness’, ‘opportunity’ and ‘threat’. “If we are born with a healthy body, we are privileged and have potential to achieve anything and everything in life,” To achieve the set goal, a person also needs to realize weaknesses and overcome them, he said and went on to explain the ‘O’ part of the ‘SWOT analysis’. “One should also grab opportunities,” he said and added one should also have the grit to face ‘threats.

While discussing about children’s dreams and career options, Mr. Kapoor said, Children should try to understand their own passion and should choose a career which will provide them real gratification. On the first day students from class VIII to Xth attended the programme while on the second day, students of class XI &XII  have attended  the practicum and participated enthusiastically. Vice-Principal, P.K. Mishra along with senior teachers  of the school were present at the occasion.
