Valedictory Ceremony of 12th Entrepreneurs’ Week 2016 held in Odisha

12th Entrepreneurs' Week 2016The 12th edition of the Entrepreneurs’ Week held in the different parts of the state concluded today at a city hotel. Like previous years’, the Entrepreneurs’ Week 2015 was celebrated across state from 5th – 11th March 2016 as part of the birth centenary of legendary leader Biju Patnaik who dreamt of an industrially developed Odisha.

The Valedictory ceremony was organized amidst various entrepreneurs and industries associations where their representatives raised issues relating to the development, promotion and revival of the MSME sector. MSME principal secretary Gagan Kumar Dhal asked for a collective effort from the department to tackle all the issues and problems raised by various associations. He asked for the provision of marketing mechanism for the entrepreneurs.

UCCI president Ramesh Mishra, HARO chairman JK Mohanty, Niranjan Mohanty from Odisha Industries Federation, Gouri Shankar Dash from OASME, Deepak Kajaria from OSSIA, Anant Tripathy from OYEA, Rajesh Srivastav from OIA, A.K Chatterjee from Odisha Wood Industries raised issues faced by the small industries associations.

Land acquisition problems by IDCO, creation of separate land bank for setting up of new MSMEs, systematic handling of entrepreneurs’ problems by IDCO authorities, and marketing of MSMEs products, purchase of regional MSME products to be made mandatory by the government were some of major concern areas that were put forth.

Special secretary Finance department Aswini Mishra summed up all the issues raised and asked for a collaborative effort, co-ordination and consultation while framing a policy, proper updation of the MSME product database and rigorous monitoring mechanism for the implementation of policies and incentives.

Director of Industries Nityananda Pallai, MD OSIC Parthasarathi Mishra and Director EPM B.K Das were also present who noted and addressed the issues put forth by the entrepreneurs.
