Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday inaugurated Water ATM at Jharanasahi in Bhubaneswar, where people can purchase 1 litre of safe drinking water at 30 paisa. Though it’s not free, but very nominal.
Odisha Government has planned to set up over 40 such water ATM in various places where drinking water is not readily available or there have scarcity of safe drinking water.
Slums, bus stands and public places like parks are the target areas.
Notably, before few months, number of jaundice patients identified at Jharana Basti near Chief Minister’s residence in Bhubaneswar. In this regard, a core group was formed by BMC with officers from Public Health, BMC health office and other BMC officials for prevention of Jaundice.
