Odisha stays No. 1 in PMGSY Implementation

ONI Bureau: While the BJP continues to attack the Odisha Government for failing to deliver when it comes to governance, the state ranked No. 1 in the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Gramya Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

At a review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, it was noted that 43,222 km roads were built at the cost of Rs 18,624 crore till December 2017. In total, 19,862 villages were connected under the scheme.

In 2017-18 FY alone, 3,500km road connectivity has been achieved under PMGSY. The Chief Secretary set a target to complete another 3,500km roads by the end of March 2018. He also stressed on the need for use of green technology and quality in the project implementation.
