50 Million Users In Just 13 Days, Aarogya Setu Becomes The Fastest Ever Mobile App Globally To Be Downloaded

Aarogya Setu is an initiative started by the government as a part of my MyGov scheme, an innovative platform to build a partnership between Citizens and Government with the help of technology for growth and development of India.

The rise in COVID19 cases in India prompted the Government to find strategies to combat spread and what best could it be than the technology that is faster and convenient.
 
Hence, Aarogya Setu, a mobile application was developed by the Government of India to connect essential health services with the people of India in the combined fight against COVID-19. 
 
The App sets focus on boosting the initiatives of the Government of India, particularly the Department of Health, in proactively reaching out to and informing the users of the app regarding risks, best practices and relevant recommendations and advice about the containment of COVID-19.

Aarogya Setu Mobile App was launched on 2nd April 2020 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and is available in 11 languages. Within 13 days, it was estimated that more than 50 million users have downloaded the app making it the fastest ever mobile App globally to be downloaded.
