No Doctor Consultation Fee For COVID-19 Tests in Odisha
Complying with the guidelines of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the Odisha government warned private labs from charging doctor consultation fee from patients for COVID-19 tests in Odisha.
The ICMR advisory allows people to undertake COVID-19 tests without a prescription from a certified medical practitioner.
The COVID-19 tests is free in Government labs across Odisha. As per guidelines, the private hospitals should charge Rs 1200 for RT-PCR test and Rs 450 for antigen test.
After the advisory, the government has warned against stringent action against those labs overcharging people.
