Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Emphasizes On More ICU Beds, Ambulances In Bhubaneswar-Cuttack

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik emphasized on providing more ICU beds and ambulances in twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to contain the spread of COVID-19 infection.

Reviewing the pandemic situation in the state through video conferencing, the Chief Minister congratulated the efforts of doctors and health workers for their exemplary work. Odisha has crossed one lakh mark as far as the number of patients recovering from COVID-19 is concerned.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need to strengthen the health infrastructure in Khordha and Cuttack districts, as well as organise awareness programs on COVID-19 regulations.

Chief Minister Patnaik also expressed concern on the shopkeepers who were found to be violating the COVID-19 rules, and directed the police, health department and municipalities to coordinate for strict enforcement of the rules.

The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the improvement in the COVID-19 situation in Ganjam, Sundargarh, Gajapati and Koraput districts. He advised Jajpur, Bargarh, Khordha and Cuttack district administration to follow the Berhampur model of tackling the pandemic.

Expressing concern over the spread of infection among various government employees, CM Patnaik suggested that the COVID-19 regulations must be strictly enforced in government offices.
