Haryana CM Khattar Cancels Farmers’ Meet As Police-Farmer Clash

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s farmers’ meet at a village near Karnal had to be cancelled as police-farmers clashed at the venue.

A group of farmers protesting against the New Farm Bills entered the meeting venue. The police had earlier unsuccessfully used tear gas shells and water cannons to prevent the farmers from entering the venue.

The protesters ransacked the venue. Many of them climbed the dais, threw chairs tore up posters.

The farmers’ meet was being organised by the Centre to dispel ‘misconceptions’ about the farm laws.
