No Data On Migrant Worker Deaths: Centre

The Government has no data on the death of migrant workers during the lockdown period. In a reply to Lok Sabha, the Government admitted to having no such data with them.

Though the government admitted that 1.04crore migrant workers had traveled back to their home towns during the lockdown period, it said no data on death was reported.

Due to the non-availability of data, no compensation will be provided to the kin of the deceased migrant workers, the Government said.
