Ramjanmabhomi Trust Head Who Shared Stage With PM Modi Tests Positive For COVID-19

Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, the head of Ramjanmabhomi Trust has tested positive for COVID-19. He had shared the stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during foundation stone laying ceremony of Ram Temple on August 5.

Reports in national media suggest that the Trust Chief had visited Mathura to participate in the Krishna Janmashtami celebrations. He started experiencing breathing difficulties after which the doctors were informed.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has spoken to DM, Mathura and requested him to provide all possible medical attention, the Chief Minister’s office said in a statement. The Ram Temple Trust Chief will be treated at Medanta Hospital.

“Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken details of the health status of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, who has tested coronavirus positive. He has spoken to District Magistrate Mathura and to Dr Trehan of Medanta and requested immediate medical attention for him at the hospital,” the UP CMO’s statement said.

On August 5, besides PM Modi, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, CM Yogi Adityanath and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat were also present on the stage. The Ram Janmabhoomi trust was formed in February this year to oversee the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
