16-year-old Tribal Girl gangraped in Bihar, Thousands Protest

A 16-year-old tribal girl has been gangraped by some miscreants at Hapla Siraniya village in Katihar district in Bihar. The incident triggered massive outrage in Bihar. The girl hails from West Bengal.

She was gangraped on September 22 after being abducted by two motor-cycle borne people. However, the incident came to light today when the villagers staged protests, demanding quick action in this matter.

An FIR was lodged on September 24 and one of the accused, was identified by the victim. Thousands of protesters comprising locals and tribals from Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal, gathered at the village to join the agitation. The District Administration has promised strong action.
