2 Killed, 8 Injured in Duronto Express Derailment in Karnataka

At least two people were killed and 8 others injured when the Mumbai-bound Duronto Express derailed near Gulbarga in Karnataka in the wee hours today. The incident occurred at Martur Village Station, 20km from Gulbarga.

At least 9 bogies of Mumbai-bound Lokmanya Tilak Express from Secunderabad derailed. The NDRF rushed to the spot immediately. Injured shifted to haopital. Passengers evacuated. The Railways announced an ex-gratia compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the kin of the deceased.
