This was happened for the first time since the Supreme Court ordered the end of ban on women of menstrual age entering the shrine.
The women — Bindu (42), a CPI (ML) activist and Kanakadurga (44), a civil supplies employee entered the shrine early on January 2.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also confirmed the development.
However, the temple has been shut for about an hour and reopened after ‘purification rites’.
