25 Congress MPs suspended from Lok Sabha for 5 Days

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan cracked the whip and suspended 25 MPs from the Congress for violating rules of the House, showing the placards and disrupting the House continuously by rushing to the well of the House. These MPs won’t be able to attend the session for the next five business days. The suspended MPs included Deepender Singh Hooda, Gaurav Gogoi, Sushmita Dev, K H Muniyappa, Ranjeet Ranjan, Abhijit Mukherjee, Ninog Ering, M Ramachandran, KC Venugopal etc.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley later revealed that from the All Party Meeting, it was clear that most political parties want the stalemate to be resolved, but Congress wanted to continue its protest. Congress party has 44 MPs in Lok Sabha. Now, they are left with 19 MPs, mostly senior leaders.
