PM Modi launches ‘Gram Uday se Bharat Uday Abhiyan’ in Mhow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the ‘Gram Uday se Bharat Uday Abhiyan’ from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth place Mhow in Madhya Pradesh to commemorate his 125th Birth Anniversary today.

The program (Abhiyan), which aims at building social harmony, will culminate on 24th April 2016, which coincides with the Panchayati Raj Day.

The 11-day campaign will focus on generating nationwide awareness and efforts to promote rural development and foster farmers’ progress. Discussions will be held on various issues relating to rural development, improving farmers’ income, social harmony and SC/ST welfare.

While launching the campaign, PM Modi hailed Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and his fight against injustice and inequality in the society. He also distributed certificates of ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Yozna’ to the SC/ ST beneficiaries.
