70 Indian Sailors from Gujarat stranded in Yemen

At least 70 Indian Sailors from Gujarat, are stranded in Yemen and sent a distress call to the Indian authorities to rescue them. The Indian Government is taking steps to ensure the safe evacuation of its nationals.

The Indian Sailors, mostly from Mandavi in Kutch and from Jodiya and Salaya villages of Jamnagar, had gone to Yemen in five boats to deliver cargo. They are struck at Khokha Port in Yemen and unable to return because of escalation in tension.

At least six Indians were killed when their boat came under attack from the Saudi-led coalition forces in Yemen on September 8.
