Army Captain Tushar Mahajan killed in Pampore Encounter

Another Army Captain, Tushar Mahajan was martyred in the fierce encounter with the militants the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) complex in Pampore town on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway.

With this, two Army Captains, two CRPF jawans and and another Army Jawan attained martyrdom, while one civilian also got killed in the encounter. One of the militants was also killed.

Captain Tushar Mahajan belonged to Udhampur district. The gunbattle is still on and two or three more militants are said to be inside the complex. Captain Pawan Kumar belonged to Haryana’s Jind and was the only son of his parents. He was just 26.

Earlier, Captain Pawan Kumar of 10 Para Regiment was killed, while Lance Naik Om Prakash of the Para Commandos, who was injured in the gunfight during the day, succumbed to critical injuries.
