Arun Jaitley releases funds worth Rs.1981 cr for Polavaram Project

Centre has released Rs 1981.54 crore of funding to Andhra Pradesh on Monday through NABARD towards the Polavaram under the Prime Minister Krishi Sinchayee Yojana.

The Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharti handing over the documents related to financial assistance for Polavaram Project and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley handed over the cheque to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu at a function in New Delhi today.

The Union Urban Development Minister for Housing M. Venkaiah Naidu, the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Water Resources, Vijay Goel and other Ministers are also present on the occasion.

M Venkaiah Naidu thanked Prime Minister Narendra  Modi for making Polavaram Project a reality.

Meantime, Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati said construction on Polavaram project was allowed after Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh have given consent. She further said that chief minister Naveen Patnaik’s statements are baseless.
