Assembly Polls: 83% Polling in Goa, 78.62% Voter Turnout in Punjab

Punjab-MannGoa and Punjab recorded highest ever Polling percentage in yesterday’s Assembly Polls, signalling at a big change in the political situation in their respective states.

Goa recorded 83% voter turnout. Polling was held for all 40 seats. RuBJP and Congress are involved in a direct fight while Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is giving them tough competition and may emerge as a dark horse.

Punjab witnesses a record 78.62% voter turnout – higher than 2007 (75.45%) and 2012 (76.63%). Malwa, the stronghold of Aam Aadmi Party, recorded 83% Polling. That could be a game changer. All 117 seats in Punjab went to polls yesterday.
