Cabinet clears Gaganyaan Programme, 3 Indians to spend 7 days in Space

ONI Bureau:  The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved India’s first manned mission to space, Gaganyaan Programme on Friday.

The Union cabinet approved a budget of Rs 10,000 crore for the project today.

Three Indian astronauts will be sent to space for up to seven days by 2022 by the Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO).

Two unmanned flights and one manned flight will be undertaken as part of Gaganyaan Programme.

ISRO will deploy its biggest rocket, Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III (GSLV Mk III), to send 3-member crew for the duration of the mission.
