New Delhi, Nov 18: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi played politics over the death of a veteran leader of India. Delhi assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel on Wednesday rejected a BJP demand to pay homage to VHP leader Ashok Singhal, who died on Tuesday.
The speaker took the decision after a majority of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators opposed the demand by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s three members in the 70-seat house, the AAP tweeted.
To add insult to injury, AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan called Singhal a terrorist. Remarks were expunged from the records after BJP MLAs protested.
Singhal, the architect of the campaign that led to the razing of the 16th century Babri mosque in Ayodhya in 1992, died in a Gurgaon hospital following kidney and heart problems.
