Funeral Procession of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam begins in Rameswaram

Thousands of people throng Rameswaram to pay their last respect to former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who will be cremated with full military honours shortly. The funeral procession began from his ancestral home. Security has been tightened in and around Rameswaram, as many dignitaries, including PM Modi will attend the funeral. Dr. Kalam had died of a massive cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture at the IIM, Shillong on July 27. He was 83.
