Gen VK Singh rushed to Saudi Arabia to trace Missing Indians

Minister of State for External Affairs, Gen (Retd.) VK Singh has rushed to Saudi Arabia to coordinate with the authorities to help the Hajj stampede victims and trace the missing Indians.

While 58 Indian nationals were killed in the stampede occurred in Mina near Mecca last month, 78 Indians are still missing. Efforts will be made to track them and bring them back to the country, if they are found alive.

In total, 769 pilgrims died in the stampede, as per the official sources. But, the death toll is pegged at 1,036 if we take unofficial data into account.
