Gujarat Violence Death Toll rises to 8, Curfew remains in Force

Curfew remains in force in Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Mehasana, Patan, Palanpur, Unjha, Visnagar and Jamnagar towns, as the death toll in Gujarat violence, has now gone up to 8. Six people died in firing by police and paramilitary forces, while two died in clashes. One of them was a police constable.

Four deaths reported from Ahmedabad, three died in Gadh village of Banaskantha district and another one died in Mehasana town. Army has deployed two additional columns each in Surat, Rajkot and Mehsana.
